Kinesiology is a type of holistic treatment which uses muscle testing to figure out the imbalances within the body then corrects it using varies techniques such as lymphatic massage, nutrition, neurovascular holding and meridian sweeping, emotional stress release to put the body back to its original healthy state.

IS SAD HITTING YOU HARD THIS WINTER???

When I started my research on SAD I stumbled on one factor which was very different to what we normally associate SAD with, it was the GUT and BRAIN connection. So much research has now been done to highlight the importance of healthy gut flora in order to be fully healthy. Our gut is called the second brain and it is called our enteric nervous system, consists of some 100 million neurons that are embedded in the walls of the long tube of our gut.

Our gut affects our immune system as well as our nervous system. You’ve heard the phrase of “It’s gone straight to my head” when someone has a drink. It literally does if there isn’t sufficient amount of lining in the gut. So as the viruses, toxins, food particles and so on. Those big molecules go into our bloodstream because of insufficient barriers of the gut causing inflammation.

There is a chicken and the egg scenario: Our guts can affect our brains and our brains can affect our digestion. When we are stressed our digestions do NOT work properly which can result in IBS, bloating, diarrhoea and so on. Same applies to opposite, when we have impaired digestive function it can affect our moods.

So, if our gut is impaired already why do we get the SAD in the winter months?

So how can Kinesiology help with SAD?

Correcting the digestive issues (including Food Intolerance Testing so anti-inflammatory foods can be removed from the diet during healing period)

Supporting the Digestive System with enzymes so we can breakdown our food and finding the right probiotics to support out gut flora therefore our immunity and Serotonin levels

Finding the right supplements such as Evening Primrose Oil (an effective hormone balancer which might help with our mood swings), Vit D (supports immune & nervous system), B Vits (essential for Brain health)

Supporting the Nervous System

Supporting the mind emotionally by changing our subconscious or changing the way we react to the situations.

Kinesiology is a Holistic approach and sees the body as a whole. All the systems in our bodies are interconnected, therefore one affects the other like a domino effect. Kinesiology has tools to figure out what is priority at that time for body to heal itself. Systematic Kinesiologist uses lymphatic drainage, find the right supplements for the body to recover faster, switch the electrical points on for the organ systems to work properly, work with acupressure points also meridians and do emotional work/subconscious re-wiring so we aren’t getting in the way of our healing.Hay Fever and Kinesiology

For as long as I can remember I have hated summer due to being extremely allergic to pollen. It was so bad that I wasn’t able to leave the house during the day, all the windows and doors had to be closed all day & night to avoid pollen getting in, I couldn’t sleep at night, my throat would swell so much that I was having trouble breathing, I had horrible rashes all over my body, the list goes on. I had tried every prescription hay fever remedy available in varying doses and was just about to start a course of strong steroids as a last resort when I went to Perin. Within a few days I was outside again, not sneezing hundreds of times a day, had no asthma problems and was able to perform well in my summer exams. I continued with the treatment throughout the summer and within a couple of weeks had no hay fever  symptoms at all. I cannot begin to express how much Perin & kinesiology have changed my life as summer will no longer be something I fear, instead I am looking forward to being able to go outside and not suffer. AG.

Hay Fever is one of the conditions I worked on a personal level with my son and with other clients and achieved 100% results and relief.

I am so confident that I can help anyone to overcome Hay Fever/Seasonal Allergies through Kinesiology and Stress Management.

What Causes Hay Fever?

The pollens of trees, grass and flowers. Although we have had nature all through out human history Hay Fever rates have gone up dramatically in the last 30 years. Some of the reasons the studies suggest is cleaning products, crops being sprayed with chemicals, carpets, high stress levels and fast foods/additives in the packaged foods etc.

In my practice I have come across that Hay Fever is related to low immunity (people with compromised immune systems including pregnant women are more likely to suffer with Hay Fever) and impaired gut flora.

Hay Fever Symptoms:

  • Congestion of the upper respiratory tract

  • Runny/itchy nose and eyes

  • Sneezing

  • Asthma

  • Eczema

How to Treat Hay Fever Naturally with Kinesiology?

We don’t just treat the symptoms in Kinesiology, we look further and find out what causes it in the 1st place!

Typical Kinesiology treatment for Hay Fever consists of finding the right Antioxidant for the client, everyone’s needs are different so we make sure we find the right supplements for the individual.

This is followed by thorough Lymphatic Drainage to move the toxins out of the body so body can start recovering.

I always do some Food Intolerance testing to see if any of the allergic foods are contributing into the Seasonal Allergies. If we find any, I recommend a withdrawal period and replace them with other nourishing foods.

I always check the digestive system and find the right supplements (digestive aids, probiotics, gentle colon cleansers) to support it.

Adrenal/Hormonal System plays a big role in immunity so if there are any areas within the Endocrine System needs supporting kinesiological methods help with this procedure.

Why Do We Give Up On Our New Year’s Resolutions?

Most of us make New Year’s Resolutions every year and most of us fail, nearly 80%, within 2 weeks into the New Year. I am curious as to why, lets discover a bit more.

In order to understand our habits and behaviours we need to look at the mind.

We have 2 minds: Conscious and Subconscious. Conscious mind is the thinking mind, which interprets the world through our senses so it can observe what is going on around it. Other roles of the conscious mind includes comparison and analysing.

Subconscious mind on the other hand is the autopilot mind. Subconscious mind is developed from the 3rd trimester of the pregnancy until the age of 6-8 by imitating/copying our caregivers’ behavioural patterns.

We operate 95% of the time from our subconscious and it’s 40000 faster than the conscious mind. We surprise ourselves by coming up with the same comments as our parents would when talking to our children. Have you ever felt talking like that in your life before? If so because our subconscious programming is running the show 95% of the time.

We can make all the wishes and promises to ourselves let’s say on losing weight but if the subconscious mind believes that we CAN’T or there is a secondary gain to being overweight than it becomes a battle, not an achievable target.

Have you ever felt the push-pull feeling? We feel going 2 steps forward and 5 steps backwards. This indicates we consciously want it but we lack the belief statement in the subconscious which is far more powerful than the conscious mind and without it we can’t achieve our wishes and desires!!!

Another reason why we cannot keep the promises we make to ourselves is because they come from outside of us, other people’s expectations of how we need to live our lives. This doesn’t resonate with what we want for ourselves. If we proceed with other people’s expectations, we become unhappy/burnt-out or we don’t follow it up.

Last but not least reason why we end up giving up on our goals and dreams is because we live in the future, not in the present moment. I will be happy when I get that job, or the girl/boy, or the sports car I have been dreaming about. We cannot have a sustainable life if we are always looking into the future because we are acquiring something or someone to come and fix our happiness. Even if we achieve our dreams, we end up feeling miserable because we miss enjoying the process along the way.

My name is Perin Kureyhan-Cummings. I am a Systematic Kinesiologist and PSYCH-K facilitator. I am fascinated by mind-body connection and how our subconscious programming affects our lives.

I wasn’t always this way, my background was science related, until I became very ill both physically and mentally. Conventional medicine failed to help me so I had to figure out a way to help myself. Then I discovered Kinesiology and mind/body connection.

Since then I have been passionately helping myself and others to live more fulfilled, happy and healthy lives. Because I believe we are meant to THRIVE not to just survive.
